SmartWall install at Woolworths RDC with Capstone Construction
Site HQ supplied 276 metres of SmartWall temporary fencing to Capstone Construction for the expansion of the Woolworths Regional Distribution Centre at Perth Airport. The live-site commercial project required a high-visibility, anti-climb fencing solution that could safely separate construction activities within a fully operational warehouse environment.
The project involves expanding both the ambient and temperature-controlled areas of the distribution centre to improve operational efficiency and support Woolworths’ growing supply chain requirements. Site HQ’s Western Australian team worked closely with Capstone Construction to deliver a secure temporary fencing solution suited to the site’s safety, access and operational requirements.
Capstone Construction was engaged to deliver a range of upgrades, including the expansion of chilled storage and ambient staging areas, a new trailer wash facility, Cold Store Airlock Docks, Ripening Room Docks, Recessed Container Docks, and office and amenity upgrades. All construction works are being carried out while the facility remains fully operational, requiring a high level of planning, coordination, and site safety.
To support these evolving site needs, we supplied 276 metres of our innovative SmartWall system—a state-of-the-art solution for high-performance temporary fencing. Engineered to meet AS4687:2022 standards, the SmartWall is ideal for high-profile projects like this due to its sleek aesthetic, narrow footprint, and exceptional safety features.
The one-piece water-filled base is designed with sloping sides to deter climbing, a low profile to prevent objects sliding underneath, and a bright colour for maximum visibility. Its compact design reduces tripping hazards, while easy-lift handles on both the sides and middle make installation and relocation effortless. SmartWall is also cost-effective to transport, with 36 units fitting into just 4 standard pallet spaces—a huge advantage for logistics planning.
From initial enquiry to final delivery, our team worked closely with Capstone to ensure a seamless, hassle-free experience. The installation not only provided a secure boundary but enhanced site safety, all while preserving critical space and accessibility around the work zone.
At Site HQ, we take pride in our commitment to customer care—before, during, and after the project. This collaboration is a perfect example of how our innovative solutions and customer-first approach support complex projects without compromising safety or efficiency.
We look forward to continued work with Capstone Construction and playing a role in delivering vital infrastructure for one of Australia’s leading retailers.
FAQs
SmartWall is a space-efficient temporary fencing system that combines a temporary fence panel with a durable, one-piece water-filled base. Its narrow footprint, low-profile design and sloping sides help reduce trip hazards, prevent objects from sliding underneath and deter climbing. The brightly coloured base also improves visibility, while integrated lifting handles make the system easy to install, empty, move and reuse. SmartWall is ideal for commercial, civil, infrastructure and event sites where safety, presentation and available working space are important.
Yes. SmartWall is well suited to live construction sites and operational facilities where building work must be separated from workers, vehicles or ongoing business activities. Its compact base minimises encroachment into surrounding work areas, while its high-visibility design creates a clear boundary around the construction zone. At the Woolworths Regional Distribution Centre at Perth Airport, 276 metres of SmartWall was supplied to support construction within a fully operational warehouse environment.
Standard temporary fencing generally uses separate fence panels, weighted feet and clamps. SmartWall replaces the traditional fence foot with a compact, one-piece water-filled base that provides a lower profile and a cleaner, more streamlined finish. This can reduce trip hazards, preserve usable space and make the system easier to relocate as site requirements change. SmartWall is particularly suited to high-profile, space-restricted or public-facing projects where both safety and presentation are priorities.
